Challenge
The client required a 42-story luxury tower on a constrained infill site in Midtown Manhattan, with a below-grade garage extending to the property line and a neighbouring landmark building requiring constant monitoring.
Approach
We implemented a top-down construction method to minimise excavation impact, installed real-time settlement monitoring on the adjacent landmark, and used a high-performance concrete mix that accelerated the cycle time from 7 to 4 days per floor.
Result
The tower was completed three months ahead of schedule with zero damage claims from neighbouring properties and a LEED Gold certification for its energy performance.
